Y sentir junto a mi boca
Como un fuego su respiración.
Angustia de sentirme abandonado
Y pensar que otro a su lado
Pronto, pronto le hablará de amor,
Hermano, yo no quiero rebajarme,
Ni pedirle ni llorarle, ni decirle
Que no puedo más vivir.
Desde mi triste soledad
Veré caer las rosas muertas de mi juventud."

"Quiero bandonear tocando gris,
Quizás a ti te hiera igual algún amor sentimental.

Portrait of Dolores Manci

This is a conceptual portrait of a classmate of mine. She is a very resillient person, who has to cope with a lot of troubles in her life, but still manages to care for other people, and be very brave, friendly and enthusiastic. I also wanted to portray her kids and grandson in the small boat and her husband in the rocks. There are some dates which refer to important events in her life. The beach is very menainful to her as well, so I chose to incorporate it too.I am very glad that the picture ended up in her hands

The Baptist

John The Baptist is probably one of the most mystical figures of the Bible. He is said to be the precursor or forerunner of Jesus and some branches of the christianism regard him as the reincarnation of the Old Testament`s Prophet, Elijah. It has been written that he was one of the purest and honest of men, and lived preaching and making the baptism ceremony in the Jordan River. .
This is an old painting I made during june-july in a more spiritual phase of my life, where I depicted the saint in a sort of religious extasis in the Jordan, travelling through the cosmos. In the left top corner you can see him preaching to a small crowd at the same time. There are also lilies the bottom right corner- a symbol of purity. The latin which is not very clear in the photo says "Vox Clamantis in Deserto".Tools: Oils in MDF 34 x 49cm

Detail.

A very kind man lend me this beautiful frame for an exbition at my art school
and an art gallery of a public hospital. The photo is quite poor, but
the frame fit the artwork very nice and helped convey the sacred quality I wanted to show.

Separation

"Separation" is about the lack of commuincation between fantasies and reality,
male and female, farytales and everyday activities (the fishermen). Is about the longing to belong.

An old painting that I did some months ago for university, but I could manage to take some
decent photos just now.

Victorian Character designs!

These are some character designs for a Victorian Game we are planning with the
game company I am working for, Pulsar Play (http://www.pulsarplay.com/). The story is
set in 1840-1845 Englad, so I tried my best to keep the outfits accurate. The first and
the last lady are aristocrats, while the one in the middle is a housekeeper. Enjoy!

The Death of Virgin Mary

"Well I believe there's something watching over you
They're watching every single thing you say
And when you die they'll set you down and take you through
You'll realize one day(...)

We all live under the same sky
We all will live we all will die
There is no wrong
There is no right
The circle only has one side

We all try hard to live our lives in harmony
For fear of falling swiftly overboard
But life is both a major and minor key
Just open up the chord"

The stranger

These are shots for another university assignment where we had to choose a photographer`s stlye (from a list) to inspire a photoshoot, but with our personal touch. My chosen photographer was the famous Isabel Muñoz, who has incredible portraits of people from different ethinicities and backgrounds. I wanted to portray the  sadness and despair of a villager in some isolated region of a lonely country.
Thanks to my dear friend for posing for the shoot and being an excellent model.

She is a beautiful person inside and out!

Drawings and paintings will come soon, I have loads of work in progress
but I have been terribly busy to be able to finish them or they are still in the teacher`s
hands! I also wanted to thank everyone who has visited the blog or support me with their comments. They really encourage me to keep on working and taking care of this little place.
*To respect the model, please do not distribute these photos without my permission.*
